About Us
Consigning Women first opened its doors in 1989 in the Avondale neighborhood, just across the Ashley River from historic Charleston, SC. As one of the city’s very first consignment shops, it quickly became the go-to place for women to consign and shop.
In 1994, Ann Gadsden Shimer purchased the business and set about bringing new life to it. Sixteen years later, in 2010, she moved Consigning Women to its current location in Mount Pleasant.
After 30 incredible years, Ann passed the torch in 2025 to her longtime and dedicated shop manager, Owen Gregory, who has been part of the Consigning Women family for 15 years.
Today, Consigning Women is a beloved destination for women across Charleston, Mount Pleasant, James Island, Johns Island, Kiawah, and Seabrook. We carry all your favorite designers and feature one of the best luxury selections in the Lowcountry.

About Owen
Owen Gregory has called Charleston home for nearly three decades. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in History and a proud Tri Delta alumna, Owen has deep roots in the community. She has been part of Consigning Women for 15 years, working alongside founder Ann Gadsden Shimer before purchasing the shop in 2025. Her dedication, eye for style, and love of connecting with customers have helped make Consigning Women a premier consignment destination in the Lowcountry.
Owen is married to her amazing husband, Gump, and when she’s not at Consigning Women, you’ll likely find her exploring new places—she absolutely LOVES to travel!
